It's such an honor to interview you. I almost creamed myself when you agreed to answer my questions.

I tend to do that to people a lot... oh wait, that wasn't a question.

1. What's the deal with you and "crap"? (IE: Crapville, craptoons, hardcrap, crappyfood) Do you have some sort of fecal fetish?

"Crap" kinda came by accident and was only fueled farther by the success of the original idea. I wanted to make a site to showcase my flash cartoons and named it Craptoons instead of cartoons. Crapville was actually an idea for craptoons to be an online comic, but that never took off. I took the name crapville and turned it into an online community sort of thing.

2. What are your future plans for CrapVille?

I'm always thinking of ideas for Crapville and about 90% of them get scrapped. For the future I would just like the site to grow and have better ways of the members of Crapville to be able to showcase their work and have more of an impact on the site. I want to take over MySpace.

3. What made you want to be a web designer? What got you started in it?

I love to know how things work, so when I first started going online with AOL (3.0) I started looking at how all these html pages worked, and how I would be able to build my own. I never went to college for this and basically taught myself everything I know about web design and graphic design. I got really into the entertainment aspect of it when a cartoon character of mine called "Squigo" became famous and I was forced to make a website about him. From there it all went crazy.

4. Is all the money, time, and effort worth it?

In the end it is. I love to see other people happy with my work. I would love to be able to look around and see people at home, work, or at school looking at my site and being entertained. I know that there are a ton of people visiting the site every day, and they email me thanking me all the time... that's all I really do it for. I just try to keep everyone entertained.

5. What do you envision yourself doing if you weren't running CrapVille?

I'd probably be in a band or doing something musical. I'm also a musician on the side... that's my second talent.

6. I guess this is kind of like the last question, where do you see yourself in the future, 2 years, 5 years? (with CrapVille, in general)

I see my website becoming more of the mainstream site that people will go to. If I generate enough money with the site, I want to buy commercial time on channels like MTV, Fuse, and G4. I really think that the success of crapville just depends on people knowing about it. There aren't many people that don't like the site... (if any)

7. How's HardCrap working out for you?

It's coming along. Slowly but surely. It isn't my immediate concern right now because I'm really concentrating on making crapville as entertaining and fluid as possible. But once everything settles down a bit, I intend to do a lot of promoting for that site. People really don't seem to be interested in any other links besides the porn ones, so I may just convert it completely to porn. Not sure yet.

8. I know you have a ball and chain, how do you balance yourself between her/him (haha), your friends, and the site?

Working from home is really a lot more difficult than working at an office. I love to work on my site and would probably be in front of it 24 hours a day if I could. I try to make as much time for my girlfriend as possible and we have our weekends together. It's tough, but I manage.

9. How much time do you spend on CrapVille a day?

During the week I spend about 12 hours a day in front of the computer working on stuff for the site. I know that seems impossible, but there really is a lot that goes into the site. I also speak with advertisers and affiliates constantly. Work on the site is never done and probably never will be. It pretty much consumes my days... that's why it's tough sometimes to write about what I did today in my posts, because I do the same shit every day... it's boring to read that shit.

10. Are you the only one that works on CrapVille? If not who else helps you out?

I'm pretty much it. Brandon appears in a lot of the videos I make for the site and David and other people give me ideas all the time... but I do all the hard stuff. It's basically a one man show. They like MySpace better... (those traitors)
