To all the American's anyway. I hope the rest of you people out there in other countries don't hate us for celebrating our Independence. It truly is a precious thing.
When I think about the 4th of July I think about Freedom mostly. But I also think about having a barbecue with my family and going to see the fireworks with them. Well up until 2 years ago that's what we did every 4th of July. It seemed kinda redundant after awhile but I haven't been able to do that for 2 years now. I always seem to reflect on days like these because it makes me truly miss my family. I had some barbecue today and it was cool. I didn't get to see that many fireworks. I always used to say "They're the same every year" well they are but if you don't get to see them then it doesn't matter. I miss doing stuff like that with my family. I miss the tradition of the 4th of July.
I am no longer working for IBM. I got another job with a company called ViaSync. My title is Network Engineer. I'm basically a geek on call. We support anything and everything under the sun. If you have a problem and need support we'll do it... For anything.
This should be a good opportunity for me. I won't have to get up at 4 am anymore. Thank God! I'm definitely going to learn a lot. It's all hands on stuff.
I bought another shirt from threadless its called flowers in the attic. Check it out:
So my life seems to be kinda hectic, well I have tons of shit running through my head at one time. I have to get this project done for school so that I can graduate. That's always in the back of my head. Then starting this new job, making sure I have enough money, man its just a never ending cycle. I just hope it dies down a bit after I'm done school. Then I will have free time to do the shit or learn the shit that I want. I just don't have much time to really get into somethings.
I began editing a small skateboard video of me ollieing different stuff. I know I'm not a good skater but I try and this is more less to see what I can do with the editing software. Hopefully I can get that finished soon. I'll be using the song In My Heaven by Negative to go along with it.
Yesterday I went on a hike. It was pretty damn cool to get outside and in the mountains for once this summer. I miss being outside and going to the mountains. The Rockies are like an Hour or more away from where I live. The Appalachian mountains weren't that far from where I lived. They're not as big but I think they're nicer. The tree's changing color in the fall is awesome back home. Shit, I miss that too.
radio bam, articles, and rants have been updated and are functioning now. You'll now notice .tm which is a link to another domain I bought. tannermatthews[dot]com. I'm going to be putting my resume on there and an online portfolio that should be kinda cool. I snagged it up so some other asshole couldn't register it and for 4 bucks a year why not?
I also did an interview with Tony Gines from CrapVille. It's in the articles section. You can click here to go to the article. Tony sent me the PSD for the CrapVille logo so I'm gonna work with that and make an image for the Interview. It's a cool interview so be sure to check it out.
I recently bought some CD's (yeah bought) I got Viva La Bands, Clutch - Robot Hive/Exodus, and cKy - An Answer Can Be Found. Viva La Bands is a compilation CD put together by Bam Margera and Carson Daly's record company 456 Entertainment. It showcases a lot of European bands that just plain rock. The CD is filled with so many good songs its hard to pick out the best one. Every song is good. An Answer Can Be Found took me a while to get used to but cKy definitely brings another awesome CD to the table. My favorite tracks off that CD are probably Suddenly Tragic and Triple Manic State. I just got the Clutch CD so I haven't had a whole lot of time to listen to it but Mice and Gods (also on Viva La Bands) is just an amazing song. I love it.
I had planned on this being a lengthy update but I can't really think of a whole lot more to write about. Maybe I'll think of more later. Until then. Take it easy people.
