The
topic id like to express my feelings on is the topic of
religion. Mr. Matthews makes it quite clear that he has
never been taught about religion and that would make
sense because religion is all about learning who created
you and you learn all the who’s, what’s, where’s,
and when’s.
It
is also very clear from reading Mr. Matthews essay that
he doesn’t care about religion and hates being
approached about it.
To me freedom of religion entitles them to
believe whatever they want to and entitles you to
attempt to spread the word of your newly found
savior.
Mr.
Matthews says in this paragraph,” I don’t understand
how so many people can make references to a book and
they don’t know who wrote it.” To reply to that
comment, if Mr. Matthews had in fact done any reading
into religion the bible is recognized as a historical
document that outlines history and most authors of each
chapter have been identified others are still unknown
but for the most part it was written by Jesus Christ’s
disciples.
To
be honest I’ve seen a lot of the prophecy the bible
speaks of come true already at an alarming rate.
Religion is all about a blind leap of faith believing
knowing you can’t see.
Mr.
Matthews states that religious people think they are
better than him and I don’t believe that is the case.
As a religious person when I see someone one the streets
who is totally unreligious I don’t even try to
approach them I wait for them to see that I have
something more and they eventually question me.
Mr.
Matthews also seems to dislike the idea of preachers
making a living spreading the word of god. For this
matter I have one question for Mr. Matthews.
How was it not only ok but considered bad morals
to not donate to the church in the older days? It is
because back then they had better morals and did not
mind supporting something like church.
Sure
I can see the argument that you cant see god so how can
he be real or church is just a money making scheme, but
even if church were a total load of crap it still
teaches its members how to be a good moral person. The
church is a non profit agency making only enough to
support itself, which clearly nullifies Mr. Matthew’s
comments about religious people making money off the
public.
