Paulo Filho to defend title against Chael Sonnen
WEC 31 takes place December 12th on the VERSUS network at 9PM EST. There are slated to be 3 title fights with 2 of the bouts previously announced as Doug Marshall vs Ariel Gandulla and Urijah Faber vs Jeff Curran. It has been rumored that Paulo Filho would fight but no opponent was confirmed. Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports confirmed that Chael Sonnen would fight Paulo Filho for the gold on Dec. 12th.

WEC announces 3 title fights for WEC 31; Debut of Jens Pulver
The WEC announced three title fights for their upcoming WEC 31 event. The event will air live on the VERSUS beginning at 9PM EST. Doug Marshall will fight Ariel Gandulla for the light heavyweight title. Jeff Curran will challenge the 145 lb. Champion Urijah Faber for the featherweight title. Paulo Filho is expected to defend his middleweight title but no challenger has been announced yet. Jens "Lil' Evil" Pulver will make his WEC debut against Cub Swanson.
