Gregg Doyel of CBSSports.com doesn't have a clue.
Gregg Doyel of CBS Sports recently called into the question the credibility of the UFC over at his latest article on CBSSports.com. After reading this article I really couldn't fathom how someone is getting paid to right something like this for a site like CBSSports.com. Gregg Doyel clearly doesn't have a clue how the selection of referee's and judges work at a sanctioned UFC event.
"Because this was bad. This was really bad. Understand what happened, and don't gloss over it. Don't excuse it, as White did afterward.
Here's what happened: After two minutes of outrage, an official scoring decision was reversed right before everyone's eyes. Given UFC judges' history of baffling scoring decisions, it's reasonable to believe the judges honestly called the fight a draw. And that White reacted to the crowd's outrage or his own personal shock and sent word to the judges that their decision was wrong, that one of them needed to change his card so the official outcome could reflect what had actually happened in the octagon."
For someone trying to make you understand what happened he clearly doesn't himself. Judges and Referee's are appointed by the respective athletic comission that is preciding over the event. The event was held in Cincinnati, Ohio and was therefore sanctioned by the Ohio Athletic Commission. Mr. Doyel loses all credibility in my eyes when he states that they are "UFC Judges". It's sad to see Dana White take the blame for this one. He has nothing to do with it and the UFC isn't that corrupt. Bottom line is this is completely ignorant journalism.
