BJ Penn may not fight until February
The Fight Network is reporting that BJ Penn may not fight until the Superbowl weekend show on February 2nd. BJ Penn was first set to take on Sean Sherk for the light weight title at UFC 78. Sherk has an ongoing appeal for a suspension due to steroids. His hearing is scheduled for Oct. 31. If this appeal goes through then could this possibly give them enough time to make Sherk vs Penn happen? After all the legal mumbo jumbo going on with Sherk it was said that Penn could possibly take on Joe Stevenson if the title is vacated at UFC 79. It seems to me they are trying to give them as much time as possible to keep Sherk as the lightweight champ and get that fight with Penn.
